Hans Nordby, Managing Director, CoStar Portfolio Strategy

Hans Nordby, Managing Director, leads a team of 65 professionals, including 50 economists and analysts, in Boston, Washington, D.C., and the United Kingdom.  Mr. Nordby’s teams have assisted CoStar Group entities in expanding analytic services and products, including CoStar Market Analytics (CMA).  As a result, commercial real estate investors, lenders and developers have been better armed to evaluate commercial real estate risks and opportunities with both granular market data insights and high-level macroeconomic trends.   In 2012 he was made an officer of CoStar Group.

Mr. Nordby continues to advise public, private, debt, and equity commercial real estate clients on investment and lending strategies, including custom strategic research and guidance on portfolio strategy, target market selection, capital-raising initiatives, relative value and custom scenario analyses, and acquisition / disposition studies.

He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and client-sponsored events for the clients’ investors and customers.  Recent keynote addresses include NAIOP’s national conference, as well as national NCREIF and NAREIT events.  Media in which he has been featured include the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Washington Post, Bloomberg, NBC News, CNBC News, Time magazine and Fox News, among others. A prolific writer, he has contributed to the Journal of Portfolio Management, RMA Journal, Real Estate Investment Today, the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management, and ICSC Research Quarterly.
